Whatever It Takes ... No Matter What!September 30, 2016
Once again, another great message came in for me, special delivery from on high at the end of my morning mediation, "Remember the Alamo!"
"Okay", I countered with GUS (God, Universe, Source), "can you give me a little more info to go on here?" You'd think I'd know the drill by now, but you can't blame a girl for trying to extract all she can get from the highest and most reliable Source in the universe! I'm frequently given a short and often catchy phrase and then gently reminded when I seem to be impatient for immediate clarification (details, please) to give it a few moments to see what else comes in for me to grasp a more thorough understanding of the information I've just been given.
The interpretation of "Remember the Alamo" that was given to me translates to standing strong in your conviction to your cause and doing whatever it takes to get the job done - no matter what. And in certain circumstances, the possibility of dying for what you stand for goes along with the territory when you have fiercely vowed to fight for an ideal, no matter the cost. Sometimes the cycle of life must transpire with a death of sorts (whether physical, emotional and/or spiritual) to allow room for new life to emerge and burst forth to blossom and grow into much needed changes for the benefit of all.
I read up on the battle of the Alamo after being given this message and discovered that the brave men who stayed and fought, despite the odds of being greatly outnumbered, did not set out to become martyrs for their cause. They had high hopes for a victory, yet realized that it was not an option to stand by and do nothing even if the chances for triumph seemed slim at best. In their minds, to give in or stand down would be an enormous loss to them on many levels, just as great a loss as the threat of actually dying for what they so fiercely believed in to be just and right.
What this message, "Remember the Alamo!", brought to mind immediately for me was the vow, the resolute pledge I had just recently made a month ago regarding a self-challenge I decided to take on for an entire year. This task involves writing daily in my journal after my morning meditation, all relevant and inspiring insights, all pertinent messages that are revealed to me on this quest. My goal, as titled in my journal, is 'The Journey of Mastery' and subtitled: Becoming FIT in every way - Spiritually, Physically, Emotionally, Mentally. While that may seem like a rather daunting task, I wanted to do something that would really make me stretch and seem a bit daunting at times because I know myself well enough by now to understand that is what it will take to inspire and motivate me to reach for my highest potential. And when I am highly enthusiastic and passionate about any project, I am very determined in sticking with it until its completion.
On 'Day One' in my journal I took some time to write out a very personalized and meaningful pledge for myself. Here are a few sentences which I included: I hereby pledge my commitment to creating and aligning with my goal of becoming the greatest and highest version of ME! I claim my steadfast vigilance, unwavering persistence in following through and doing whatever it takes ... no matter what!
I had been deeply moved to take on what surely must seem in some ways to be such a monumental and intimidating task (the "Mastery of Me" in every way) after watching a documentary entitled, "I Am Not Your Guru". It's a behind the scenes look about Tony Robbins and the production of his famous six-day seminar, "Date with Destiny". While it captures the immense and massive effort of producing this live seminar, what truly impacted me most were the life-changing transformations of the participants in such a short amount of time. Tony advises the audience members that he'll be using tools, the science of words (taboo language) and other techniques to pierce the conscious mind into paying attention because he's ferociously determined and intent on doing whatever it takes (his words) to break the pattern that's holding them back so they can re-claim who they really are with lasting results. And boy, from what I observed, Tony truly is a Master at delivering on his promise! And the film maker actually waited to release the documentary until a year later so he could also include follow ups with the featured participants to see how they were doing at that time. I was truly and genuinely impressed with what they shared. This documentary was the impetus, the snowball that began the avalanche, so to speak, for my staunch and enthusiastic creation of my yearlong project.
On 'Day Four' at the end of my morning ritual, I was strongly nudged to investigate an email that had just come in a few hours earlier. It came through in a weekly mailing that I don't normally get around to reading right away and sometimes not that often if at all, as these kind of emails can get lost in the heap of my "not crucial - later is fine" pile of messages to peruse. But spirit was unusually insistent that morning and adamant that I stop right then and there and take a look. And of course, I relented, as GUS has never steered me wrong and it wouldn't take that much time anyway.
This specific memo included an announcement about a program offered by a friend of the sender and stated there was going to be a tele-call in a couple hours with all the details of what was involved. Even though the email did not give me much to go on, I knew from the topic and the feeling I got from the information provided that this one was a "GO" for me. It turned out I was free that hour, so I figured the universe was conspiring on my behalf once again! And as it turned out, there had been several announcements about this particular call that I had not seen and this was the last one being offered with sign-ups for the program closing two days later.
After listening to the call, I knew without a doubt it was the answer to one of my prayers, one that was the next logical step in aligning me with my yearlong goal. I've committed to this program, Awakened Wealth with Derek Rydall, as it's exactly the ideal fit for me and what I need right now. It lasts for 8 weeks for the main portion which includes lots of group calls, support, training, coaching, homework, etc. Then it continues for another few weeks of follow up with the initial group and staff to help us integrate all we've learned. I am thoroughly thrilled and delighted as only 3 weeks into the program it has proven to be exhilarating, exhausting at times, and life enhancing while stirring up some painful past issues that were more than ready to be addressed and much more ... all the components I wanted in a program to make lasting changes that will move me forward in a big way on this lifelong journey of "Mastering Me".
One final note - I just had to laugh during our very first group call when Derek, our presenter, announced that the work of the program wouldn't bring us any tangible or lasting results unless we were totally committed and on board 100% to doing whatever it takes ... no matter what!
I'm totally on board and up for that and I hope that you, too, will consider the importance of taking your goals, dream and desires to heart with gusto and glee, doing whatever it takes ... no matter what. Woo-hoo!

Quotes to Ponder
It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through.
Energy and persistence conquer all things.
The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination.
In order to succeed, one must develop the capability of sustained focus. One of the key distinctions that separate achievers from the 'non-achievers,' is that the non-achievers stop when things get hard, when they get bored, or when results aren't forthcoming; whereas the achievers stay the course until they reach the finish line no matter how hard it is.
